As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10
Living the Call of Christ
There is a profound impact when we live as disciples in mission by sharing our lives and resources as good stewards. Every moment of every day becomes an opportunity to make a difference for the good of others and to give glory to God. What impact will your life of stewardship make in the life of another?
How will you make a difference as you share in Christ’s mission to bring life, light, mercy, and peace through your words, actions, service, and ministry?
How Will You Answer the Call?
Step 1 - Thank God and grow in gratitude for all of your blessings. Ask the Holy Spirit to inspire and strengthen you in your commitment to grow as a good steward in the coming year.
Step 2 - Your life, resources, talents and gifts, everything you are, have and will be, are gifts from God. Make a list of specific things you will give as a steward in the coming year. How much time will you share? How will you nurture and offer your talents, gifts, and strengths? How will you share your financial gifts?
Step 3 - Make a firm, prayerful commitment to grow as a disciple and to give as a good steward, in all of the aspects of your life, and particularly within your parish. What will you do? How will you follow through on this commitment?
Stewardship Prayer
Loving Father, you alone are the source of every good gift. We praise you for all your gifts to us, and we thank you for your generosity.
Everything we have, and all that we are, comes from you. Help us to be grateful and responsible.
You have called us to follow your son, Jesus, without counting the cost. Send us your Holy Spirit to give us courage and wisdom to be faithful disciples.
We commit ourselves to being good stewards. Help us to be grateful, accountable, generous, and willing to give back with increase. Help us to live the call of Christ and make stewardship a way of life.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen
