Plan to Celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd
Focusing on the theme “Know the Creator through Creation,” Catholic Climate Covenant’s Earth Day program can assist inter-generational parish programs, schools, and others in exploring how a deeper connection with creation can draw us closer to our Creator. The program includes prayers, Scripture readings, a short video, discussion questions, and suggested activities on Catholic social teaching and climate change.
Mass of Healing and Hope on April 24
The Mass of Hope and Healing is for men and women, friends, siblings, and grandparents who have lost children through infant death, stillbirth, miscarriage or abortion. Acknowledging our loss and praying together within a community of people experiencing similar losses can help to begin a healthy, faith-based journey toward peace and healing. The mass will honor the lost children and is open to everyone, especially Catholics who have felt alienated from God and the church. It will take place on April 24that 5:30 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerque. At 4:00, prior to mass, a speaker will give a presentation on healing through grief. The sacrament of reconciliation will also be offered between 4:00 and 5:30. A reception will follow mass at 7:00.
April 30: AACC 25th Anniversary Mass and Scholarship Awards
The Archdiocese of Santa Fe African American Catholic Community will celebrate their 25thAnniversary Mass on Sunday, April 30th, noon at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph’s Dr. NW, Alb. Msgr. Ray East will be our guest celebrant. The Fr. Rollins Lambert Scholarships for students who attend Catholic School grades K-8 will be awarded by the African American Catholic Community after Mass. April 7-9 (for Spanish speakers): Weekend in Preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage
The Archdiocesan Offices of Family Life and Hispanic Ministry invite all Spanish Speaking couples who are preparing to get married by the Church, to attend a retreat in preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage “Nos Vamos a Casar” presented in Spanish.
